Asynx Planetarium Editor's Review

Asynx Planetarium is a piece of software of value for any astronomy enthusiast. The program is easy to use and it contains information related to the sky map as seen by astronomers.

The user interface is nicely designed, but it can only viewed in full screen mode. Resizing the program window is not possible. The program will depict the map of the sky for any day between the years 1760 and 9999. The program can display a geocentric view, heliocentric view or o horizontal view. 10000 stars, the planets of our solar system, 88 constellations and other objects will be visible fo you to investigate. The program will also show you the moon with its phases and the sun. Animations are also available in order to make your experience more realistic.

The program has multi-language support, each object contains a description containing data related to its name, constellation which is part of (where applicable), spectrum, declination, etc. The in-built search engine helps you find stars or constellations or you can use it to find coordinates online, in case you are connected to the Internet.

In conclusion: Although th interface might look a little to old, the program itself is a nice piece of work. Astronomy enthusiast and not only should give it a try.
